Between November 1, 2022 and November 30, 2022; we saw 10 companies in the Indian EdTech space getting funded or acquired. Companies came from diverse segments such as Upskilling, Teaching Tech, and Early Education.

Who Got A Slice?

Eight Times Eight (Pre Seed, $5 Million): Eight Times Eight provides live chess classes to students. They plan to launch a chess kit with a chess board, a workbook, and animated chess videos. The startup raised $5 Million round from undisclosed investors.AlmaBetter (Seed, $2.7 Million): AlmaBetter offers programmes in data science, software development, and blockchain. The $2.7 million round was led by Kalaari Capital.Simplilearn (Growth, $45 Million): Simplilearn provides online training across technologies and applications in data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud computing and other digital disciplines. The $45 million round was led by GSV Ventures , with participation from Clal Insurance and DisruptAD.Bullspree (Seed, $1 Million): Bullspree is a gamified learning platform for stock market education. The round was raised from Desai Family Office, Pai Ventures, and IVY Growth.Crio (M&A, Undisclosed): Crio.do offers a platform for project-based learning for developers. The company was acquired by Skill-Lync for an undisclosed amount.ClassLogic (Seed, $100K): ClassLogic is an integrated platform with classroom management solutions, learning management solutions, ERP, fee management, and marketing tools. The company raised its $100K seed round from Mumbai based angel investors.Edmingle (Pre Series A, $1 Million): Edmingle is a SaaS platform for small and medium-sized training and coaching businesses. It raised the Pre Series A round from IAN. Keiretsu Forum, SucSEED, and Mumbai Angels Network.Fullstack Academy (M&A, USA, Undisclosed): Fullstack Academy offers web development, cybersecurity, data analytics, DevOps, and product management bootcamps. The company was acquired by Simplilearn.Hunar (Undisclosed): Hunar is a women oriented skill learning platform with courses in fashion, food, photography, and interior design. The company onboarded Shilpa Shetty Kundra as an investor and brand ambassador.Suraasa (Seed, $1.2 Million): Suraasa is a skill-tech and career-tech startup focusing on upskilling teachers. The company raised its $1.2 million Seed round from Inflection Point Ventures. NB Ventures, SuperMorpheus, Vinners, and SucSEED.ClassMonitor (Pre Series A, $1.25 Million): ClassMonitor provides home learning kits for young students. The company raised the $1.2 million round from Lead Investor Frontline Strategy Funds; Khimji Family (Muscat), and Sarvann & Calega Family Office.

In other news, Amazon shut down its India EdTech business, Amazon Academy.
